You are braver than me @Zigs although my dad used to pull out my wobbly milk teeth when I was younger by putting a piece of cotton round the tooth,the other end round the door knob and then quickly shutting the door. I think they would call it child abuse these days

 

Front one didn't hurt, nerve had been killed off by a pineapple

Back one hurt when the anesthetic didn't work

 

Was that after the injection? I've experienced that and they said it was "Adrenaline" ... too right it was ... I wanted to run out of the room as fast as possible!

I developed a dislike of going to the dentists when I was a small girl. Not because of any fear of pain/procedures - in fact so far removed from that it is practically ludicrous but the dislike/apprehension remains. What caused it? The dentist who never blew his nose!
I would be laid back in that chair and, as he loomed over me, there would be a big green thing up his nostrils which would wiggle when he breathed ... I was convinced it would dislodge into my gaping mouth and I was gagging the whole time I was there.

 

How does a pineapple kill a nerve?

 

Maybe someone threw it and it hit the face where the nerve lies?

 

Not an easy one to re create, but cut a slice of one and then bite into it over enthusiastically so that your top front tooth goes the wrong side of your lower one

@"M" I was shaking like a leaf as soon as I got on the couch and when the dentist was trying to do two more X-rays my bottom jar was chattering so much the piece of equipment he was using was going up and down at a fair rate of knots and I expect the image came out blurred I have to practise deep breathing exercises to try and relax and calm myself down My face and tongue was still numb and swollen up until at least 4pm yesterday so am going to mention it to the is morning in case there are any problems with the drugs they are going to inject into my ankle or knee today

It sounds like you have had some bad experiences like I have had in the past.When I was in my twenties I had an abscess on one of my teeth and it blew up so I looked like a hamster with stored food in my cheek.Off I trotted to my dentist thinking he would give me antibiotics to take the swelling down,but no he decided to numb (which didn't work) the tooth and extracted it.I felt every bit of that tooth come out and I was gripping the arms of the chair so much my knuckles must have been white When I got back to work I went off to see the company nurse and she was horrified that he had taken it out without giving me antibiotics first I don't remember how I got through that days work but from that day to this I have had a terrible fear of dentists which will live with me to the day I die

 

I've got similar experiences. I DON'T DO dentists. They're all sadists.

 

Traveling around today to a few meetings at different locations. Hope in between one of them I can find an interesting restaurant to have lunch at . thank goodness for my Yelp on my phone.
