    Shocking, shocking news!

My heart goes out to those who have been murdered and those who have been injured in this totally senseless attack!

A mindless and horrendous attack.

I've been listening to it live since it happened. Current update is that two people on the bridge have died, the policeman at Parliament that tried to stop him has died from knife wounds and the murderer has died from gunshot wounds. More people are in extremely serious condition and some may not survive. At least 20 people were injured by the vehicle. The woman who ended up in the river is alive, in hospital.

It's extraordinary how one man without a gun can cause so many deaths and injury ,the caos that was caused ,the lockdown of parliament one of the supposedly safest places in the country.
It was coming but it's still a great shock ....................

Not really. He used the most lethal weapon most of us will ever have unrestricted access to.

Its amazing the havoc and destruction you can cause if you are prepared to die doing it.
It's very difficult to guard against that kind of thing unless you take them out before they even start.

I heard one report that this person was known.
If that is true, how many times have we heard this before?

That narrows it down a lot. If it was on TV, it must be true. I hope the coppers were watching because it might be evidence they've missed, seeing as as far as I know, they have not yet publicly confirmed such, suggesting they might not know yet.

Only repeating what they said, and I did say, "if that is true"

I think when people have died and a very natural national anger develops in response, it is easy to make assumptions and jump to conclusions that potentially could result in even more hostility.

At times like this, I personally think rumours are extremely counterproductive and potentially very damaging.

That is of course my opinion. Rumour has it opinions are like bottom holes. Everybody has one.

What got my back up was, one of the, so called, experts referred to the police as "Mr Plod" which I think was totally out of order.

Pete, there are, in reality, tens of thousands of people who are "known" to the Security Forces but with not enough evidence to take action. There are several levels of assessments of security, all created by hard experience, but only the top 3 are considered to need surveillance or other action. The Security Forces are between a rock and a hard place.......they get criticised when they can't do anything because of lack of evidence and then criticised for being Nazi's when they take action.

OHHH, @ARMANDII , I would not blame the security services one bit.
If that should turn out to be the case.;)
