Thank you @Mowerman ......I think:). I'm absolutely cream crackered with this selling plants malarky. It's now a week at least since I decided to reduce/sell part of my herbacous collection as I didn't want to just bin them. I have now raised £1385 and have another 4 people coming here tomorrow...oh my back! I think why I am getting so many people wanting to buy loads is that I am offering many plants that you'd be lucky to find in garden centres and giving decent amounts of each plus I do know the plants and can give reasonable advice as to their likes/dislikes etc. The vast majority of staff in garden centres are clueless. I managed to keep my temper today, even after having been asked for the umpteenth time if I have any evergreen plants which flower 12 months of the year...sigh. Well actually I do, it's Gorse but not sure I should offer that :). I'll keep going for another few days and then shut up shop. I am tempted to treat myself to a short break in a rest home to recover.

@silu - sounds like you need a break in a rest home. That is if you can tolerate the stench of urine and 3000c central heating 24/7

Your sales seems akin to a car boot sale. A load of hassle from clueless muppets that want everything for nothing . Hehe.... Gorse would give them something to reflect upon.

The mail order idea is much less hassle and far more profitable. Good luck with your business venture (not that you'll need any luck) :dbgrtmb:

What I'm doing atm @Mowerman is just a 1 off to reduce the amount of plants I have but oh yes when I did run my own business (smoked salmon) which was mail order and long before the advent of the internet, that was a lot easier as I didn't have to deal with Jo public directly. I did get the odd ghit who'd phone up to ask if his salmon was still ok to eat having been held up in USA customs for 3 months:yikes: or wondering why the salmon tasted a bit funny having poached it for an hour:yikes::yikes::yikes:....no I do not gest:whistle:. Think I'll pass on the rest home tho:)

@ARMANDII Take some cuttings (they strike very easily from cuttings :blue thumb:) as the plants can get old and woody fairly quickly because they're blooming all the time.

From now until midsummer is a good time to do it and take them from semi-hardwood. As you can see, the plant can quickly become leggy and it's best to give it a haircut after flowering. Not an easy choice to make if it's flowering all the time. It most dormant time is Autumn and not Winter.

Hello @Redwing . I am only selling my surplus plants as a 1 off really and don't have a website. I am selling them through Gumtree. If you want to see the advertisment then you could go onto Gumtree and look up Herbaceous plants in Fife and my advertisment should come up.
If you wanted some plants I'd be more than happy to send them to you BUT (funny how there is often a but:)) the postage cost would be very large I fear and not make my plants very economic for you. I am selling some Flag Iris and Japanese Anenomes which are effectively bare rooted and wouldn't weigh much but things like the chunks of Hostas or Rodgersia I'm selling for £5 would cost probably more than that to post to you! I offer people a couple of lists of plants to choose from however these are only about 5% of the plants I have. When people have come to buy plants they see other things that they would like to buy so the herbaceous borders I am keeping also have holes in them:rolleyespink:! I am only offering plants for another few days as I can't really afford too much more time as been mobbed with people and I would actually like to have some time to "repair" the areas where plants have been removed from and get going with my new schemes.

Hello @Redwing :) yes I have quite a few as per the photos! and have plenty in other places too. The vast majority of mine are doubles but there are a few patches of sinlges too. These I have sold on Ebay a few times and given the money raised to the hegehogs.
I sold them "in the green" usually, and from memory charged £14.50 for the doubles including the dreaded postage per 100 flowering sized bulbs plus I used to add quite a few small bulbs too.
If you would like some just PM me. I hope admin don't mind me saying about selling stuff but it really is only for charity and I am not a shop!
