Good morning @wiseowl I can answer that for you, as that is one of the most common trees in this province.

It will make an informal hedge, yes, and is in fact commonly used for that purpose here. Just dont let it get too tall. Beware though. Although some do say otherwise, they really do best in soil that is always damp. If there is one thing here that is always seen near lakes and other bodies of water here, its salix caprea or one of its relatives...

Well that's me almost, thank god, finished selling my plants for charity.I really don't have many of the spare plants left so today I am about to get started in repairing the ex herbaceous beds which have holes in them from plant removal. A manure heep is going into 1 of the beds and 1/2 of the other. I will keep 1 bit unmanured as I will grow Carrots in that and possibly attempt more Parsnips altho my last seasons ones were pretty hellish.
I know I'm a bit late manuring but the stuff is very well rotted so the Potoates going to be planted will have to like it!
Livid as have bust my very good and EXPENSIVE garden fork lifting an enormous Hosta which was over 2ft in diameter. That's on it's way to Dornoch as I type and my charity is £30 richer from the proceeds of same.
The fork does have a lifetime guarantee (bulldog make) and I am surprised it broke because it is ....well was! very good and strong. While i was having a bit of a struggle to get the Hosta out I wasn't abusing the fork and it's had to cope with harder work than what caused the failure. I'll get onto Bulldog today and see what they say.

Went to homebase and picked up their compost. 360litres.. (sisters cars a c1 :rolleyespink: so much smaller than my old car, didnt want to abuse it too much! Feels weird saying old car! :frown:) prob need more but be gone by the next time I plan to take a trip. Their 60ltr bags have all gone, was told their getting rid of homebase own brand stuff cuz a new company has bought them.

Most dumped in the blow away to weigh it down, 3 bags in the house to do peas in gutters later on.

All seedlings are still alive :dbgrtmb: think I'll only fret/bring em in if it goes down below 5c.

@wiseowl I am jealous of your snapdragons! Most of mine died at tiny seedling stage for some undetermined reason - I have one left in a pot by itself that I'm desperately nursing through...

Sowed peas and French beans, basil and beetroot.

Mowed front lawns and gave them a dose of weed, feed and moss killer. I am seriously thinking about removing one lawn and turning it into a perennial border. Need to decide so that I can start the plants off from seed.
