We spent a total of 10 hours between us doing someone else's garden. Couple we know have bought a holiday home on the island, so today we cut their lawn, did a bit of weeding and cleaned out their ground level drains. They are paying us but not sure I'll be so keen to offer my services again:huh:. Very tired.

I pressure washed the outside of the summerhouse including 2 x 4metres high gable ends. Still got another gable end to go. :phew:

Then continued to make new edges on another 100ft of lawn, do some weeding, some potting on and a lot of odds and ends.

Good morning to day is Woos dahlia day,as most of you know for the last two years I have had disastrous results with my dahlias and that is an understatement ;) out of 30 tuners planted ,slugs and snails destroyed them all,but Woo is going to try again,I am going to try my good friend @ARMANDII idea of using seaweed which i am gong to collect to day at some point, and also try the copper band method,I will try not to get stuck and fall in the mud like I did once before but that's another story:heehee:

At least it's quieter than a brass band. :snork:

The other method is to have resident ducks, who love eating slugs. :)

So far today I've prepared the last of the new borders. All that is needed now is to collect the plants when the nursery calls me to tell me that they are ready, then bring them home and put them in the ground. Hopefully, that will be sometime this coming week.

I've also edged the rose garden....theres still daylight left, so the question is what to do next? :snork:

I've been working in the garden since 10.30 - with just a few breaks.

Made another 100ft of lawn edges and weeded all along the gully. Did a half wheelie bin of weeding, spent half an hour sorting my canes into size order and then another couple of hours putting in enough bean canes for 200 plants and then tying them in. The next job is to weave the top of the ShineyFrame for the beans before working on surrounding the area with chicken wire to keep the rabbits out - 200ft of wire should do for that area. Then there are other areas of the veggie plot to dig and protect. :phew: Not doing any of it today.

They love live food (slugs, works etc) and grains and you can give them virtually all your weeds (they like grass as well). That should keep them happy - and so would a pond :snork:. They also enjoy fruit and veg so you would need to protect those. I think @Trunky keeps ducks so he can tell me where I'm wrong :loll:
