I would be changing my unmentionables if I'd come across these..:yikes: I have an irrational fear of snakes. I jumped and fled 20 yards from one before a friend pointed out that the thing was dead...

I'm with you on that Lori. They are our only poisonous/venomous snake too.

I hadn't thought about those Armandii. :snorky: I'm still getting used to the fact I've got to vote for some of them next month, and currently without any info on any of them or their aims. On the island we got to speak to them face to face about their intentions not that-that made a lot of difference. :)

On our recent visit to The Lake District I captured this "Stand Off" between the Heron and the Duck.

Wall Lizards basking in the sun at Durlston Castle Swanage, illegally introduced but not really competing with our other native Lizards.

Brownsea squirrels today, only saw 5 but some are very tame. They are more red than in Spring or Autumn.

They look great even from behind.

When we got home and sat in the conservatory I couldn't believe my eyes as a Common Lizard walked across the floor, it had recently lost it's tail so it didn't seem to be able to run very fast after a pic I put it in the garden, where it came from I don't know as there aren't any around here.:dunno:

Cats have been at it again .. this time Mr Jeremy Fisher.

                  20170718_195528.jpg

Saved him for now, currently swimming around in the pool (bog)..

                  20170718_195556.jpg

Any suggestions beside shouting/swearing at cats? They're sitting around watching him..

I don't think there's anything you can do Linz, it's just part of their natural instinct.

Ah I know :( makes me sad though. I try to save everything they catch, once took a magpie to the vets and a lizard to the pet shop :rolleyespink:

Mr Fisher has gone.. hope he lives for another day or 2 at least!

My slow worms are sheltering out of the rain under their square of roofing felt. There was also a nice Violet Ground Beetle under there, plus an ants nest!

We have a Humpback whale in the area just now, pictures not very good as it's over a mile out from the shore.

There were quite a few Common Lizards about at Portland Bill this afternoon.
