    Seen a few more Swallows this weekend, some flying passed the house, summer migrants are still slow in arriving though.

      This little chappie was drinking from our water bowl, by the patio, and let us get very close to him. I think he's not well even though he flew over to the bird feeder and was happily eating seed that fell from it.

            @strongylodon I guess there's nothing we can do about it :dunno:. I'm sure Mrs Shiney would be able to pick it up (birds let her do that) but where would she go from there? :scratch:

                Portland Bill today.
                Wheatears were around in numbers and just seemed to be resting after flying across the Channel and ignored us instead of immediately flying off.

                Fortunately the Little Owl in the quarry next to the Bird Observatory was on show again and Mrs Strongy was able to see it this time.

                  Been a busy week for rare birds this week.

                  First a Harris Hawk in trees at back, apparently it's escaped locally.
                  Then a sparrow hawk in the garden
                  And a buzzard being attacked by crows just above garden.

                    Saw the male Robin picking up suet pellets and feeding them to female Robin today :). As usual didn't have a,camera on me.

                                St Mark's Fly, saw loads in the fields on our walk around Tolpuddle yesterday.
                                Reputed to appear on the 25th of April, St Mark's Day. So they are a few days early!:smile:
