Marigold - Germination

    Funny enough, I am struggling to get French Marigolds to germinate this year too - and mine are from purchased seed :scratch:

    Mind you, a lot of stuff seems to be really slow going this year - I reckon the yoyo-ing temperatures might have something to do with it.

      Got one, don't like it as everything ends up as leggy as hell in it.

      Thats because you are leaving them in there too long, once germinated move then to cooler conditions.:smile:

        Most things I've sown have germinated OK this year with the exception of Tagetes, I tend to keep seeds slightly warmer than the seed packets say just to kick start them faster, then as @pete says as soon as they germinate get them into a cooler but sunnier position.

        I had some Marigold seed pods lying on the ground last year and they started to germinate before the frost hit them. From the pods I did collect and store very few have germinated.
