It's a man thingy @shiney Mr Kandy is just the same at times:whistle::heehee:

Well I managed to get out into the garden yesterday afternoon but after an hour had to give up as my foot was killing me.Took my sock off and the foot had blown up again so spent the rest of the day elevating it:sad:

Today is Mr Kandys Birthday and after we have been to pick up his birthday prezzie we shall find somewhere to have a nice meal out:Wino: If the weather improves for tomorrow we are thinking of driving over to Peterborough to have a nice relaxing ride on the NVR (Nene Valley Railway):fingers crossed:

    Enjoy your gardening day everyone:smile:

Thanks @shiney we have just got back from the shop and as my foot is puffed up again we are going to wait until Mr Kandy has packed all the shopping away and then will see about that meal as neither of us want to cook today:biggrin:

Can't believe Mr Kandy has been retired a year, where has that time gone and we have packed so much into the last twelve months.

Ah yes-this ended up being the problem-time keeping/turning up and offerings of more pay for a different job elsewhere.

Ah well we're arriving in vancouver, driving to whistler for my husband to do mountain biking and i will be horse trekking, then back to vancouver then I'm off home! Only a week for me and husband will be working...couldn't miss out on the opportunity to come to your beautiful contry though. Where abouts are you??

He likes coming here because there is a lot of different work to do and he gets a full day at a time. We get a cheaper rate for a full day and he charges us £12 per hour. Some round here are charging £20 per hour. If he has done heavy work we giver him extra.

@Snorky85 I am about 3,000 miles from Vancouver. You'd only have to go over a mountain range, across the prairies, through the north and then down to me. Hope your to Vancouver visit is fun :)

I am working today but need to get time before dark to empty the unheated greenhouses into my living room. Thank goodness their is a side door there to make the trips short. :)

Tidied up the greenhouse a bit, moved seedlings on a bit to make sure that where possible every cell in every tray has something growing in it, and removed the opaque plastic sheeting that I had put on the inside of the windows as shading. I decided that the reduction in light was holding things back, and besides it kept falling off and was getting on my nerves :snork:

Looking at things today, it doesn't seem as bleak as it did the other day - I just need things to get a bloomin' move on!

Please excuse the mess, time has not been on my side recently.....

Finally, I did some weeding, planted my gladioli corms (bit late, I know) - or at least, as many as I could fit in. I have a handful left, so will need to find a home for them - will they do in pots, or would a trough be better? I chucked down some slug pellets coz the little bar-stewards have been busy devastating the dahlias that are sprouting from tubers in the garden. Had a look at my loganberry - looks like I could have a good deal of fruit on my hands this year:

The rasps are similarly laden with flowers, so fingers crossed.

Oh, and I ran the sprinkler for a few hours just to water the lawn and everything.
