Assembled this: Ready for some clematis - fragrant oberon due to conditions

Watered the soil in some of my pots. My rain barrel is full and we are expecting more showers today so I figured I'd need to water down the soil in the pots in preparation for my peppers to be potted up. Now there is room for another 8 gallons or so.

Very soon I shall be off to the pub to irrigate myself...

 

Didn't get home till early evening. Been away for the week. So mowed, weeded dead headed and watered front garden.

 

Yesterday didn't do much, apart from to finish weeding the compacted hardcore at the bottom end of the drive.

Today I think I will mainly be up a ladder, pruning out the last dead stems of our old passionflower, removing the dead stems of the Jasmine officionale and winding in the starting new growth, and winding in the honeysuckle growth, so that things look a little more ordered.

Nothing to arduous, apart from the fact that I'm afraid of heights! Hey ho!!

Moving panels, they're smack bang in the middle of the lawn then mowing, build a make shift run/pen so I can clean the chooks and they can have a roam on the grass.. not brave enough to chase them down the street quite yet! Get the hose out to water "stuff" and make a start on my summer pots for round the front. Depending on time might tidy the patio and chuck some Jeyes about to get the algae off.

Been up plot Sat and yesterday, digging, planting flowers and potching in the polytunnel.

 

Hoping to go up to the lotty later to pick bolted onions....depends on if migraine clears properly so i can see again.

Asked mr snorky to close up greenhouse last night but he only shut the door. Some of my newly sprouted thai green beans have shrivelled over night :(

 

It would take a sad gardener to spot the changes, but I think the climbers look better!

It's bitterly cold out there, with intermittent drizzle, but I have also got the runner bean framework up. The beans were sown a little too soon, so are going slightly loopy in an unheated bedroom. With temps of just 2c overnight for the next two nights, they will have to wait a little longer, but should have their feet in open soil by the end of the week. Horticultural fleece will be on standby, though!!

Another beautiful day.....not much time to garden but planted miscanthus variegatus and a fern next to acer dis purpureum Garnet.

 

A roasting day, wall to wall sunshine
Planted out echinacea cleopatras, potted on aeonium swarzkopf (large plants now) and staked heleniums and some dahlias. Two large zaluzianskyas arrived in post and these were duly planted up...one will be a pressie. Now have a few of these to locate around garden for their evening scent. Several perennial heliotropes strategically placed to prpvide scent during the day. Regale lilies soon to open too to add their perfume

 

Finally got the weed membrane down ready for the 2 tonne of slate to be put on next Monday.
Fetched another 3 bags of compost

 

Stinking migraine again today. (Thats 6 since sunday). Didnt get to spend much of the day outside as had to go to bed. However, felt a bit better tonight and went out at dusk to water the plants. Was lovely and mild and wasn't too bright on my eyes. Made me feel so much better. Lovely being outside at that time. The sky looked beautiful and it was so peaceful. Love my garden. ❤️ Makes things feel a little better after having a rotten few days.
