For the month of April we had approx between 3 and 4 mm of water (central Scotland) and have had none so far for May plus it has recently been sunny and warm. The short term forecast is pretty dry as well.
So much so that I took the hose out the other night to give some plants a soaking.
I have never known it so dry at this time of the year. That`s not even ½ cm in 6 weeks.

Anyone else having the same experience?

We're getting a bit of rain, but not what we normally get at this time of year. I had the hose out at the weekend to give everything a good soak.

Soil has become dust and the cracks are big enough to fit my fingers in here! Had the hose out earlier and last week, really hoping for a nice downpour :fingers crossed:

Seems like we've skipped winter, had a prolonged spring and an early summer

I'm the same, in Lenzie, but I have planted a lot of new plants so watering has been needed.

Yes very dry here in Surrey, we had a welcome shower last week for the first time in ages. I've had my hose out most evenings for newly planted stuff.

Sitting here planning my rain dance, as we have been dry for ages here in Devon, and my hose won't reach most of my garden! I have been hand watering some of the newly planted stuff.

No rain here for 11 weeks . Our sprinkler has been working overtime for the last two weeks (we don't water the lawns) and I can see that we'll need to keep it going until we eventually get rain.

Our hose is in use all year as we have lots of plants under cover, loads of pot plants and the greenhouse to water. These take a minimum of 30 minutes per day and up to an hour a day during hot weather. :phew:

No decent rain for months here in Berkshire, the ground is cracking & lots of wilting plants. If the drought continues into the Summer I can see the trees shedding their leaves as protection! Black clouds just keep passing our way, fingers crossed for today.
