@Linz from the small images I was assuming it's natural colouration:

    Courgette leaf colouring:

    Mildew:

I've had dreadful powdery mildew on my hop leaves for weeks, but that may be a different mildew from that which attacks squashes.

Oh dear, I don't know what to do. If it is mildew, keep an eye out or bin them?

I'm sure I put the pumpkin seeds in the larger pots

Lol you can never be too carpy
If it's good enough for a carp then it's good enough for the pumpkin had it out drying already so thought why not use it

I use a tackle box trolley for transporting water containers and a fishing weigh tripod and scales for weighing stuff, a second use always helps cost justify buying equipment if you can explain to OH it's not just for fishing, but also for your giant vegetables. Landing nets are ideal for catching runaway hens.

Here is my open ground entry for 2017- the runt of the batch.

Planted today and covered with a plastic bottle cloche.

It has already been hardened off - the cloche is to protect it from foxes and slugs until it has formed a strong root system.

You can probably get away with just using that being in a city. I left a pumpkin (and some squashes) at border soil level in a polytunnel at my edge of village plot last night, probably a bit too close to the polythene covering and their biggest leaves were a bit droopy from the cold this morning, but they seem to have picked up now.

That would be just a squash...would it not?

I did not join Egvga this year, I am using seed I acquired last year.

                          Steve...:)
