Just to prove that I don't always get to work on lovely antique windows...here's a 1930's metal casement that the owner says still has plenty of life in it...but the tenant doesn't agree :D

Good news is that I'm at Hidcote Manor gardens on Monday to work on a very special pair of buildings:WINK1:

"Its had some of the newness worn off it Madam."

Works work Nick, i've had jobs where i've gone round to do some carpentry & ended up removing a virus from the clients computer or changing a washer. Had to defrost the clients freezer oneday, got there to find the door jammed open & water dripping all over the kitchen floor. Couldn't really ignore it:DOH:

I assume it's local Cotswold slate Zig but it is very thin and well dressed to fit the curve.

I would have thought that too Nick, its the thinness that threw me. The stone shingles I have seen have been much thicker.

Anyway, that aside, lovely job again:thumbsup:

Off to North Devon tommorow, sorting out an 1880s building that was bodged up to sell:DOH:

A change of trades today...I have to be 'chauffeur ,gofer' for my Son as he is recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon. It's really enjoyable work and we get to travel a lot...just like old times when I had my Glazing business.
