    It seems the Sparrow Hawk had it's eyes peeled as well, sadly. Nature can be nasty at times. :frown:

            There was a funny sight in the garden this morning. A young great spotted woodie landed on the upright pole of the bird feeder (claws around the pole) and found he couldn't grip it properly. So he slid down to the bottom still gripping the pole. :snork: One of the parents, who was on the feeder, just looked down at him as though he was an idiot!

            We have three nests of great spotted in the poplars at the bottom of the garden. Here are a couple of them feeding.

                  Finally got old laptop up and running and can now connect Nikon and upload photos rather than just my iPhone pics.
                  Not quite today, but all within last week, these were taken in garden.

                                Scrap my last ID @Sheal and @martin-f, seeing that there is no streaking on the back (didn't check at first) it is a Chiffchaff, many warblers have eye stripes just to confuse us.:biggrin:
