I've moved the two watering troughs out of the Green House while I spray the inside with Jeyes Fluid.......and then I'll plant the 5 varieties into the buckets tomorrow night.
The some of the rest will go to the local Gardening Club sales at the end of the month while others are bound for sales at Shiney's Open day.

Found 1 large snail and a big brown slug in my greenhouse yesterday, luckily before they caused any damage. Suspect they hitched a ride on pots put out for the day and taken back of an evening.

Discovered that Vine Weevil larvae eat through tomato plant stems just below soil level, they've never done that before.

They're only tiny at the moment (about 25cm tall) but here are my 5! My first go at growing them and I don't have anywhere that warm to keep them apart from a blowaway greenhouse! Oh well! :) Keeping eyes on this thread for lots of ideas and inspiration though.

I have no idea. Applied for some tomato seeds free from Heinz. They said it would be a mixture - and therefore who knows! I love a random surprise though! :blue thumb:

There seems to be a lot of greenery in my toms....I've done the nipping out of the side shoot thingy's, but do i need to take some of the leaves off too? I just recall my grandmas toms being very stalky and few leaves, but absolutely full of fruit

In 3 cases you will need to remove leaves from a tomato plant:

                    1. the leaves are infected by blight or other disease, in which case remove and burn them
                    2. the leaves are touching the ground. Remove them to prevent from soil borne disease
                    3. the leaves are so dense that they block normal air flow between plants.

As long as the leaves are healthy and are not preventing air flow you should keep them. Tomatoes need the leaves to catch the sunlight for sugar production.

edit: You can remove any leaves that are not getting any sunlight.

I'll stick to plucking mine off the plant, Pal, and letting the taste explode in my mouth:yes::love30::snorky:
