You're very lucky, @martin-f ! Last time I sold a honeycomb chimney cap, the man had to drive 1 hr to get it. Luckily, my son studied that way, so he went to meet my son to get it.

Good morning to all. A cold and breezy day .. Overcast now. It's so cold that I feel sorry for the plants - were out watering them for half an hour.

I'd forget about the lawn, it will recover.

@Logan I never water the front lawn. It's the border near the road that worries me.

@alp have you tried mulching them? Water them first then put a thick mulch on, but not around the stems.

@alp have you got a dishwasher or do you do your washing up yourself in a bowl in the sink?

I save all my washing up water as my waterbutt keeps emptying due to lack of rain and I use the water to water a lot of my border plants and my pyracantha on the fence at the bottom of the garden as the foliage tends to shield the bottom of the plants and the roots don't get a lot of water.I will even chuck the water on my grass when it starts to go brown.

We have a minimum of three bowls full a day and as they say every little helps.

Obviously any dry frying I do I wipe the inside of the frying pan with kitchen roll to mop up any fat that comes out and when I do roast potatoes etc,I pour the fat into a jar and that goes up the tip and is poured into a recycling bin for later processing:smile:

I used to save the washing up water and the water from the washing machine, but it's not the same.:doggieshmooze:

                Good morning everyone :)
Sunny, bright and warm. Lovely walk to the beach earlier.....so light these days. I went at about 5am and it was in good daylight. Quiet and wonderful :)
If time later I will take a picture....lavendar hedge in full flower, geranium Jolly Bee too and some pale yellow lupins look pretty good at the moment.
                Enjoy the day folks
