I use quadgrows as well as pots and greenhouse border, quadgrows can give a fantastic crop.
After several trials I use plain rain water in the tank and feed into the pots, this removes the need to clean out tanks every three weeks, also virtually eliminates blossom end rot.

Gust broke one of my tomato plants :wallbanging: . Snapped into two parts. I replaced it with a cucumber seedling.

Once the flowers open give them a gentle shake a couple of times a day to help them set fruit (shaking disperses the pollen from the male to the female parts)

Thanks Sandy...I will switch to feeding the pots rather than the tank, in my tank there is already a build up of residue from the feed which I need to clean out.

Hi Martin...a piece of advice I was given was to start feeding once the fruits had set, once the flowers drop you'll see tiny toms in their place.

Another tip was to remove the lower leaves after they start to turn yellow, this promotes good air flow around the plant. But, don't do this too soon, let the plant gain some height first.

Thank you sheps, issue I have is I have different plants in the same bag, I will have to find a happy medium all round feed, maybe a weak solution of tom food, ive fed the lawn rhubarb and bamboo with it and they look ok :), lets hope peppers and cucumber's like it

Never heard of that before, thank you!

Isn't it when the flowers appear that we should start feeding them regularly? (Oops, just seen Sheps post)

                      More info:

If your plants are outdoors then the wind and insects will pollinate as nature intended. If your plants are in a greenhouse then shaking/tapping them is essential, some folk go even further and transfer pollen with a brush (I've never gone that far).

Cor, is that really how tomatoes 'do it'?

I always thought it was like this ...

Slight change to the decimator set up, swapped the concrete block for a block out of a night storage heater, should absorb more of the day's heat.

Also added a tray to catch any that might fall thru DSCI0001 (15).JPG

Think I've got about a dozen Angelina's Bulgarian in my polytunnels, @JWK did you grow any from the seeds I sent?

Does anybody else still grow them?
