        Hello Martin, they're Begonias as Mark said. You need to plant them so about the bottom inch of the stems are buried. They'll be growing from small corms and at th end of the growing season ( probably around October ) you should dry the plants off and keep the corms over the Winter to start into growth again in the Spring.

            Many thanks Mark KFF Linz , I'm guessing you can get slightly different varieties then, the leaves look slightly different to some I bought the other week.

                Yeah, there are thousands of Begonias. The ones you have will be the general bedding type. They are known as Begonia x Hybrida. There are named varieties but these are generally more expensive, yours look like a mixed selection probably grown from seed.
