Yes, I have but unfortunately no germination, similar to the packet of money tree I sowed a while back with zero results:)

Woop woop had some success in what I thought would be a rubbish bucket of spud(as i forgot about them and didnt fill the bucket enough). Had a nice saucepan full of anya potatoes for dinner tonight-enough for me and my bro. They were small but delish :doggieshmooze:

Well done @silu pleased weve both had some success! :yay:

                What variety?

Don't forget that if being harvested for longer term storage, cutting the top growth down 2 weeks prior to harvesting will toughen their skins up.

Things are definitely looking up on my 1st efforts at growing Potatoes, well they were until the howling gales we had yesterday. I've been busy furtling around my Belle De Fonternay which are busy flowering (1st to and are quite pretty) and have had loads of Potatoes so far without lifting the plants. I must have had at least a pound of spuds off each plant so far and delicious they are too. Am now in neighbours' good books having given quite a few away.
However, question, some of the top growth on all my varieties of Potatoes( planted 8 seed spuds x 8 varieties) have broken in the really fierce winds yesterday (not much better today:wallbanging:) I am presuming this will affect the yield?. Would I be better to lift the worst affected plants or just leave them and hope? Luckily the main crop aren't affected as badly as the earlies. All very annoying when I was patting myself on the back (pride before fall comes to mind:doh:) that despite over manuring, the crop would appear to be really good, the manure having no doubt over fed but it has done wonders for keeping the soil damp when it has been in the main very dry here since planting and I have only watered twice since the 1st shoots appeared.

I went out with her once

That's a shame Silu  You'll be lifting the earlies about now anyway though, so hopefully the main crop will be ok :fingers crossed:

Thanks @Zigs. If I lift all the earlies over the next couple of days, how long will they keep for? as I bought mainly early varieties there are likely to be a fair old doze of them. Next year I will be sure to buy more main crop but you live and learn as they say.

Will go up to lotty and pick them all. The roosters seem ok so might spray them?
