Good morning! What a civilised morning! Yesterday, the heat started here at 9am. People queuing in the post office had to take items from shelves to fan themselves and a man was sweating and his T shirt showed.

Have a lovely morning. I spotted a flowering centaurus. A Gillian Blades clematis showing its distressed petals.. And a lovely young bird perching on my washing line.. Shame I couldn't see it very well. Could be a finch ..

Nothing special - just a nice bright wild poppy (all over our garden :))
          P1340124.JPG

This is a bit more special. The central flower spike of one of my favourites (Shh! Don't repeat it in front of any of the other flowers :snork:) - Veronicastrum
The buds will open soon and will be covered in bees
          P1340113.JPG

          P1340131.JPG

Our hanging baskets were taken down as we went on holiday and were easier for friends to water them whilst on the ground. We'll rehang them after the hot weather finishes.
          P1340102.JPG

We also use hanging baskets in the top of big pots. Makes them easy to change and move about.

@shiney How can you say that? Nothing special? Your flowers and photos really cheer me up and I need a lot of cheering up. (My son's stuff is still everywhere and I have visitor! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!) I love the light and beauty of the first poppy:wow:. Simply divine! And the 2nd photo is so striking! What is it exactly please? I would love to put it on my hit list .... Your hanging basket fed on via gra??? Simply stunning and flowers truly prolific:wow: :love30::love30::love30: .. Thank you for cheering me up...

PS It flagged up the word via gra so I had to separate them. But you know what I mean?! Hehe!

Good morning @alp it's going to be hot again. It was terrible yesterday. It was too hot in the bedrooms so slept downstairs. Still got a lot of planting to do, only do it in the morning.
@shiney lovely flowers and the wild poppy.

It's Veronicastrum. Starts to open this time of year and flowers through to August.

The leaves look good as they are symmetrically around the stem
                P1170645.JPG

Starting to bloom. The centre stem widens out at the top and all the others grow pointed

No :snork:. Just crammed with lots of plants and fed on tomato feed. They're brought on for us in a heated greenhouse so that they are ready when we open our garden at the end of May.

                Typical look by August

                  Morning everyone :)
Even by the beach earlier it was HOT.....at 6 am?
Today could even be hotter than yesterday
For someone who doesn't really like plants in pots....the watering and maintenance is a pain :gaah:.......I now have quite a number of them. Much prefer plants in the soil but for one reason or another increasing numbers are potted up
Share Shiney's liking for veronicatrums....wonderful foliage and flowers but mine are yet to flower

Oh, my gawd! I kept saying that.. Such an interesting plant. And it looks wonderfully architectural. Love it.
                    @shiney - I absolutely love it.

Inspired by @shiney, I went out with my camera. Please have a look at some very banal flowers from me please ..

Hello everyone ...a tad on the hot side isn't it!.

@Verdun, totally agree about pots.....but for some mysterious reason ( in the disguise of my hubs!) pots have sprung up everywhere this year!!:snork:

@shiney ,thank your lucky stars that I don't live near you , otherwise you would be getting an uninvited me calling on you on the pretence of wanting a C&C ( coffee and chat) .But really I would be wanting a good old nosey around you absolutely stunning garden..........on the other hand I could perhaps get @alp to do a bit of undercover work on my behalf , making certain that she has her camera of course:snork:.
Mmmm!.....be on the look out for strange women lurking ...it could be either me or @alp :snorky:

                      Lovely pics everyone

                      Have a Tremendous Tuesday !

@Upsydaisy It's OK I'm quite happy with strange women lurking around :snorky:

All GC members are welcome to drop in at any time :dbgrtmb: but better to PM me as, if were out, you won't get any dug up plants to go away with. :)

You should have come down for our Open Day and joined in with the other GC members. Shhh! Don't tell them, but they're a crazy lot! :heehee:

We often get people coming from the village, and further afield, when they need plants - or flower arrangers needing foliage. Some of the nearby churches get foliage from us for their flower festivals. Other people are very generous and drop plants in (surplus to requirements or needing a new home) and bring empty pots (cleaned) for us to use.
