I get this problem when I'm typing a post some times and also when typing an e mail.

If I go back to try to change some thing, such as spelling or some such dodgy grammar, I get this blue upright blob, instead of the usual narrow black vertical line.
Trouble is that it kind of keeps deleting what is in front of it, as I alter my text.

It's pretty annoying, so sometimes I just give up and write it all again.
With one finger that aint easy.

Any ideas how I stop this blue vertical blob?
It's really getting to me at times, and makes me want to give up, which I have done on more than one occasion.

The Insert key (often abbreviated Ins) is a key commonly found on computer keyboards. It is primarily used to switch between the two text-entering modes on a personal computer (PC) or word processor: overtype mode, in which the cursor, when typing, overwrites any text that is present in the current location; and.
        Looks hopeful.

Well if it is the Ins key, what is the point of it?
Just drives me round the bend.
Or maybe that is why it is there, to make us ordinary people go crazy.

Hmmmm, I don't seem to have a INS key on my SYSTEMAX keyboard:scratch::dunno::snorky: They're all F keys in the top row and, to be honest, I really don't know what's causing my problem with over writing.

It could be anywhere on the keyboard A, might say Insert rather than Ins.

You're right, Martin. My board is at least 7 years old and has "insert" in a block of six keys on the right. Having said that, it's not an area where my fingers stray, if it is the problem then the only other culprits are the Cats:cat-kittyandsmiley:.......as they will tread over the keys should I go into the Kitchen for a mug of tea:coffee:.

For overwriting text, supposed to save you time because you don't need an extra operation to delete something. I think you would need to be a trained typist to use it efficiently.
