:shhhh: Neighbours :shhhh: I wouldn't want to upset them ;)

Well I've watered, weeded, re-potted, moved a few things around, had a bacon butty and a skinny latte, harvested a couple of eggs from the girls, dead-headed and now the sun is out and heating up the garden quite quickly!

Need to pop to the shop ... anyone need anything? :dunno: Well, it would be rude not to ask when I'm going that way :heehee:

    @wiseowl - don't over do it :nonofinger:

      Good day everyone
We had a very hard rain last night and it is still overcast today. I believe the weather guessers have hinted that our Canada Day weekend is to be sunny and pleasant.

I have clients coming by this morning and then I'm taking my sister to look at new accommodations. Youngest son is borrowing my van for the weekend so I will park it in front of their home so that his OH can pack it and be ready to leave as soon as he gets home from work today. It's only a short walk from theirs to mine and I can see what the neighbours have been up to. I'll put my toll road transponder in it too so that they can take the fast route. :)

I haven't looked in at the bunnies. With all this rain, at least they would have gotten some water.

Play safe and I hope you all get whatever weather you wish for :)

          Morning early people :)

Cool and breezy here but looks like we might get a bit of sun

Plenty of weeding to catch up with :psnp:

And a happy Canada Day to all our colonial friends :Wino:

Have a good day everyone :spinning:

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

It promises to be an 'interesting' day. We're dismantling the summerhouse today, another step towards our anticipated house move.

Luckily, our daughter's fiancee is coming round to help us out with this, which is a good thing - he's a handy sort of bloke who can turn his hand to most things. This means there's a good chance of the summerhouse being successfully reconstructed after the move - given my appalling DIY skills, if I attempted it myself we would most likely end up with a pile of kindling and not much else. :rolleyespink:

Have a good day and enjoy your weekend.

                Aloha everyone,

@Trunky I hope things are going smoothly for you :blue thumb:

Today is the big cooking day getting things ready for tomorrow

Chicken casserole:- 24 thighs to be cleaned, trimmed, browned (Sarafi will turn up when he smells it :heehee:), lots of onions, garlic, herbs, 4 courgettes, 4 carrots, 1lb of French beans, 4 sticks celery, 1lb mushrooms, 2 tins Italian toms, red wine and stock - taste and adjust. Very rustic :dbgrtmb:

I'm also cooking 8lb of home brined brisket salt beef. So that will take three hours.

I'll cook the soup today as well.

Veggies will be done tomorrow, as will everything for supper. The main thing is working out which pans and dishes all the food will be put in.

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

                  Gooooooood evening fellow WW'ers

What a day it has been at work! :phew: I suppose the biggest moment of note was the mature gentleman who came in, stating he felt he would like to kill a particular member of staff for (alleged) "negligence" but left, giving me a big hug, saying "Thank you" :heehee: Bless him! He didn't really mean he *would* kill my colleague, but he certainly *felt* like he would if he could! He was just a distraught person who felt way out of his depth and didn't feel he could trust in anything/anyone anymore. He wasn't a bad person, just an upset one at the end of his tether. Guess who is the first appointment tomorrow morning? :shakehead: :heehee:

Been a very long day so I'm going to have an early night.

Good luck with your cook-a-thon @shiney ... I just know your cousins will have a wonderful gastronomic experience

                    @"M" Well done :yay:

Soup, casserole and salt beef all cooked :phew:, 4kg of new potatoes prepared (will be boiled and then roasted with rosemary and garlic), four different desserts ready (two of them being brought by guests). So that will just leave tea and supper to deal with. Whilst typing this I've just had a phone call saying the son of one of my cousins wants to come down from Nottingham to meet everyone. That's not a problem but we've already got cutlery and plates organised so we need to add to them. Cutlery is already wrapped in individual place settings inside serviettes and grouped together in pint beer mugs. Makes things easy as it's going to be self-service. :blue thumb:

We had lots of rain today bowever the bunnies are staying dry because a I cut out a bit from the side of a cloche and gave them an umbrella. They seem go be surviving fine so I thinking that mum didn't get run over. :) I'm leaving mummy some baby carrot greens tonight. :) I feel so relieved :phew: Really. I have no problem dealing with animals that are a menace or destructive but I just go to jelly with bunnies and the like. I even grow lettuce just for their smorgasbord however last year they were too uppity to eat it. And I did not apply any chemicals
Or fertilizers that might turn them off
Canada Day has been very wet however it is now finished for several days according to the weather guessers so the fireworks being set off at various government sites should be a success tonight. We only see them a few times a year and I do enjoy hearing the oos and ahs from the little ones :)

I have 2 Canadian flags flying year round and I usually replace them Canada Day and New Years. Unfortunately it was too wet to do it today but tomorrow will do.

I shall sleep with a clear conscience and look forward to baking whilst watching my show in the morning :)

                                Aloha everyone,

I'm just about to go out and start setting things up in the garden. We'll eat out there as the forecast is dry and sunny. I'll pop up to the village hall and get a large teapot and a few other things that may come in handy, before anyone's around :th scifD36: :heehee:

I'll need to put a couple of signs out for which way people should come in to the driveway so there won't be any confusion with them all facing different ways. We're posh and have an 'In' and an 'Out' :snorky:. I've just laminated the signs :)

Keep well and have a great day
