weird Forums page

    Whatever has been changed has affected the way things are displaying:

    Posts on the bugs board now display correctly on my phone, but Forums page does not.

    Posts on the bugs board now display correctly on my tablet, but Forums page does not.

    Posts on the bugs board now display correctly on my laptop, but Forums page does not.


    It appears as if the only members who've not been experiencing any problems are those with Administrator priveleges, @Fat Controller @Marley Farley could you log in as an ordinary user and see whether that affects how the Forums pages is displayed?


    P.S. And could members viewing stuff OK logged out, but not logged in also be something to do with a permissions problem?

      Ok Scrungee I logged out and looked in as a guest.
      I also logged in with my sock which doesn't have staff status and it all looks fine to me on all my machines.. :scratch:

      Might have guessed that it was something I had done. The only thing I can suggest now @Scrungee, is for you go to the forums page and refresh it whilst on the page, see if that forces a page rebuild.

      I've been doing that for ages, without success, tried yet another browser but Forums page still not displaying correctly.

      No problems with other Xenforo forums.

      Well, I am at a loss. I am running Windows 10, fully up to date (including Java etc) and have tried numerous browsers as follows:

      Things are changing.....sometimes there are clouds down the sides and sometimes the usual leaves and watering can.........:scratch:

        It's all changed now, that earlier page for forums has gone and it is more normal, but the background is different the page is smaller.

        OK, sorry I couldn't reply, but I wanted to ensure that there was nothing else running in between me and the GC server. I have purged the main cache, and have then gone on to rebuild various components (databases essentially) which should have solved any problems. @KFF - nice to see that it has worked for you.

        Apologies about the changing backgrounds etc whilst I was working through things - I was flipping style sheets back and forth between the current style and the old 2013 style to see what changed etc.

        Fingers crossed that has sorted it, because I am well and truly on the edge of my knowledge now.

            If I have done it right, the site should also load faster now. Wee bit fraught with danger, as I haven't ever gone that deep and meaningful under the bonnet before :phew:

              All ok on my tablet running android 6. Having a few days up at Silver dale.
              Is this all due to the fat kid in Pyongyang meddling ? Is screwing GC formatting part of the master plan :snorky:
