I leave the deadheading to Mrs Shiney. :snorky:

It's too hot to do much so I've picked rhubarb and courgettes (six a day now!) and spent half an hour winding in the beans.

Now I'm in the cool and shan't go out again until this evening.

Ah' I forgot  I took a load of photos. Here's one just to brighten up my post. :)

        :waggy: Watering!! :slaphead:

Some of the plants look like they are positively melting  The threatened rain simply has not materialised and some of the plants are getting a little stressed - but then so was I! :heehee: Trying to hose the garden with an Oz around is ... ... erm ... interesting/challenging ... demanding and ... :think2: SOGGY!!! Yes, it should be cooling but when you are totally soggy, it is not a pleasant feeling :rasp:

Mr "M" and I have just come in from a short break having a cooling drink in the arbour and discussing plans for #2 son's graduation. Thankfully, the sun was no longer on the arbour and there was a refreshing but gentle breeze - glorious summer evening moment: albeit short lived due to other D-mands ... such as ... :th scifD36: ... bindweed :rage: So, out with the weed killer, licked finger, held up finger, figured out direction of breeze, put away weed killer

We then went for dinner to a lovrly pub along the thames near Teddington where she has a house. Beautiful! Just got home and I'm shattered!

Today I cleared the path around the back of the house, weeding the gravel, and chopping back the honeysuckle/sycamore/elderflower/ivy/hop/chokeberry.
Tomorrow morning I will be running the gauntlet of the hosepipe police - although I will be watering the veg bed and the livestock/water barrel, as the fish are running out of water. Wish me luck!!

Totally logical to me. @Zigs was still seeing double so probably thought double as well and ended up with two k's instead of one. :noidea:

I was going to mow but it was too hot by the time it wouldn't have been antisocial. So I've trimmed edges and wound in beans. Indoors for the rest of the day. :phew:

I didn't even know hoiked/hoikked (however it is spelt) was a word! Lol.

Melting today! Gave the big pond filter another clean today so more lovely pond water for the garden.

Had a real good tidy up of the border. Finally decided where to put the calicarpa. Shifted a few other bits round and planted the new pretty bergamot. Chopped back the lupins with the mildew on and gave them a good spraying. Also more deadheading of roses. Lawn cut and a bit of edging. Been round and sprayed the gravel with weedkiller. Just got the sprinkler on the back grass as it's so dry.

                              Exhausted!

Decided to rebuild the bank along the side of the garden as it was overgrown and the neighbours didn't like the nettles, which did tend to grow through the fence. So far found an NHS hearing aid and eight old fertiliser sacks buried in the bank.
Yep definitely a word grew up with it in Lincolnshire.
