3rd is also a Gatekeeper and 6th another Red Admiral.
I think the first dragonfly is a female Common Darter and the second a Southern Hawker.

A Jersey Tiger moth, spotted this morning sunning itself on a notice board. Apparently we have a growing population of them in London, though I've never seen one before. Sorry not to have a photo as it was pretty spectacular! Yellow and black stripes above, orange below. You can see one here: Butterfly Conservation - Jersey Tiger -a handy site for IDing butterflies and moths.

Not doing much buzzing I nearly drowned it with the hose, so I put him in the sun to dry off.

Firstly, apologies for the quality of these shots. My excuse is that I was just having amble through the garden with my Pentax K5, a 35 years old Tamron 90mm macro lens fitted with a X2 Tele converter, and spotted this fella, who is less than an inch long, out of the corner of my eye sitting on a small leaf of a "Crazy for You" Rose. Yesterday was cloudy and dull, with a bit of a breeze so not the best for a hand held macro shot working with a depth of field of around 2mm......well, that's my excuse:dunno::snorky: But you've got to admit Nature is a master of the Grand Design. I think the fella in question is a Vapourer Moth Caterpillar.:coffee::snorky:
