Yawn yawn, wakey wakey summer (or is it) 2017

Good day everyone
It is going to be another sunny day - the guessers have said it will be 84f that will feel like 97f when considering the humidity level. Guess I'll be putting some shading on the greenhouses.

Being Sunday, I shall be spending most of the morning in the kitchen. My full week of Corrie episodes will keep me company while I bake some breads and putter

Good morning fellow WW'ers

Last weeks trip to Wales went well and the Graduation ceremony was so well organised and presented it was a really moving occasion. I've attended graduations at Kent, Lincoln and Swansea and I have to say that Swansea wins, hands down, for presentation, content, atmosphere and celebration. Well done, Swansea

We stayed in a B&B which I had stayed at twice when #2 son was in his first term of his first year and it was as good as I'd remembered it. The only problem we had was that #2 son had to be at the campus for 9am. No problem, Merle would serve breakfast at 7am
However, when out for the evening meal and checking up on parking .. no parking on campus and the only way to park and get there was by a special park and ride service a few miles outside of Swansea and the only bus was at 8am
No problem, Richard offered to drive us there so we could relax over breakfast! How kind was that?
Gave Mr "M" a bit of a scare on the drive home ... I was in the back seat and had my camera with me. Felt a bit bored, so down went the window so I could play ... why did that scare him? ... because, at one point, I had to lean slightly out of the window and steady the camera above the roof of the car to take a picture So, I got a lecture on the demerits of doing it speed ... overtaking lorries ... arm chopped off ... lose the camera ... *anything* could have happened yadda-yadda-yadda Naturally, I pointed out the benefits: ... no backseat driving!

Finally got Ozzy booked in with a Hydrotherapist! Had one lined up, but there was a communication issue and half way between trying to sort that out, I found another one This one has the water treadmill (as did the other) but also has a very long pool It also does lazer treatment and a physio who does all three treatments So, I'm very happy that Ozzy will have all of his treatments under one roof instead of 3 different places and the biggest bonus ... he's booked in for his preliminary hydro session *this* Thursday, with two more appointments scheduled in for next week! The way things were looking with the other one, it would have been next week or beyond before we could even get the initial assessment done! The physio Ozzy was under (until this morning) has only seen him once and has rescheduled the 2nd appointment three times so I think this new one is where we were meant to be Can't believe how excited I am for him

He has improved a bit over the past few weeks and is less stiff/lethargic but is still on restricted walks. I bought a toy for him to keep his mind active and last night he was going at it with a vengeance! He was chasing it around the room, knocking it under the coffee table and searching for it the other side - it was hilarious!! A heart-warming moment to see him almost back to his old self in terms of joie de vivre

@shiney I'll be finished the ironing in quick time - my boiler system hold 7 liters of water and the iron head weights almost 8 pounds - can get a lot of ironing done quick with that

@"M" I am happy to hear that Ozzie is improving.

I shall be spending a good part of the day working at my blind hemmer to get these panels closer to completion. I don't have a delivery date but I do prefer to get in-house work finished and ready to go so that I can play with a clear conscience

And I'd better get on with it!

Good day everyone
We are looking at another sunny day here. The grass could certainly use some water and we are promised some toward the end of the week. Guess I'll have to water the driest spots while we wait for it.

I am attending a celebration of life today at the Royal Botanical Gardens here in Ontario. The RBC covers 2700 acres however I shall be in the main building remembering another young life lost to cancer instead of visiting the gardens.

I must try to get some work done on setting up a website for my younger son. I had used one host only to find that their platform really sucks. A friend who is a mucky muck in the IT area gave me the name of an excellent platform and a good quality web hoster so I feel like I have cheated on my exams! But, I will have to spend a good deal of time learning these new apps.

@shiney I went for a low flow irrigation system to try to avoid plants being left out of the watering cycle. Mine isn't automated but the instructions are, turn on faucet, open valve marked "raised bed" for umpty minutes,close, then open .... My gardens are much smaller than yours so it was not too expensive for me to do this.
