Some say, I have a drink problem. I drink without any problem. Besides, I only drink to be sociable................ I am just VERY sociable!
I'll tempt fate and say we're on course for completion on 29th September or possibly a few days earlier. Signing of contracts, exchange and entry date (completion) will most likely happen within the few days leading up to that date. I'm back at the bungalow on Saturday with a measuring tape and a camera.
I'd be with you in a heartbeat it if were possible, even if only to drive the removal van - - indeed, you know that all of us here on GC are with you in spirit @Sheal - this move was destiny/fate, and is your 'forever' happy home
Thanks @Fat Controller and all my friends here for such kind and heartfelt words. Well, the removal van was provisionally booked today but I may be able to offer you a busman's holiday. Although the bungalow is on a single track road a minibus runs through every two hours to and from Beauly. That would be a cushy little job - gathering all the local gossip on the way! Other than that the kettle is always ready for boiling!
I drove a route last weekend that is the closest we get down here to a lovely route like that - - nothing means more to me when I am doing a driving duty than the 'thanks driver' as passengers get off; if I can have a double decker full alight at their destination and take the trouble to shout thank you from the back doors, I know I have done my job right. Truthfully, I would love to drive a rural Scottish route nowadays, but honestly I doubt I would ever be on time as I would forever be leaving the bus to take people's shopping bags to their door........ Mark my words, one of these days, I will be dropping in for that cuppa though - if only to see you and your other half so happy in your new home.
It doesn't take much to show appreciation with a simple thank you. Don't give up hope of ever moving back FC. Okay, I'm a southerner that wasn't raised here but it's taken until my senior years to fulfil this dream and it's now time to make the most of it. You'll be more than welcome here for a cuppa and I extend that welcome to all my GC friends that may venture up this way.
@Sheal I do hope everything goes according to plan for you in the next couple of weeks, as someone going through the same process as you right now, I know what a tense time this is. You will get there in the end and it will all be worth it.
Party??? @Fat Controller I thought you told us not to mention the party! @Sheal we wish you all the best in your new home and hope everything runs smoothly.
Thanks @Trunky. You've only got a week to go, are you ready? Is there something you're not telling me @shiney ? Or would that be @Fat Controller ? Thank you Shiney. The day we move in the only furniture we'll have is a bed and two garden sun loungers. It'll be more like camping! The three piece suite we ordered three weeks ago won't be delivered until the first week in November.
As ready as we can be Sheal, most of our stuff is packed. Still waiting for exchange of contracts, it should have happened this week. It didn't. Hope to still be moving on the 22nd though.
Just the kettle left then! To get this far everything must be in order legally, so I would imagine exchange will come early next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
@Trunky Have they given you a date for the exchange of contracts? If that date has passed then your solicitor is supposed to give you a reason that it hasn't happened. If you have a date to move in then I would have thought that 'exchange of contracts' would have been well before now and that you were just waiting for 'Completion'. Is it that 'Completion' hasn't happened?
The gardens.....pretty much blank canvasses at the moment. The over all plot is half the size of my previous home so I'm hoping a lot easier to manage. Back garden facing south east. View across the glen. View down into the glen. A few shots at the front. The only flower bed in existence. Hmmm a little bit of work to do I think.
