        @Zigs
        Thank's for asking, hearing has slowly returned and I have an audiology test on Friday followed by chat with doctor to find out how things are going. I want to know what happens to the scap oin the inside of the ear drum, it can't just drop off can it?

          I'm no expert but having gone through many months of ear problems including an MRI Scan to look at my inner ear, I would like to know too! I reckon the scab will drain out the Eustachian tube bit by bit in a natural process.

            Surely syringing will flush it out? Mind you, I'm no expert either.

            I must admit that I had a bit of a giggle reading Nigels original post as it reminded me of my own freak accident at work a few months ago.
            I was using a valve spring compressor like the one below....................
            6112fKPzVOL._SL1000_.jpg
            The tool compresses the valve spring and holds it down because the tool has overcentred. So when it was compressed I bent down to make sure that the collets were properly located. At that exact moment in time for some reason it let go and part B smacked me in the nose with so much force that everyone in the workshop heard it. All that they saw was me staggering around with my hand over my face and blood pouring out everywhere! They sat me down and when the stars cleared I got up and went to a mirror fully expecting my nose to be totally mangled. Thankfully part A had fallen out many years ago and amazingly part B had gone straight up the nostril and smacked into the top of the maxilla plate. There is now a huge crater in my maxilla plate and a myriad of tiny fracture coming off it but thankfully I'm still as drop dead gorgeous as ever :heehee:
