My friend had dragonfly larvae in her pond, they looked a bit like thin long beetles if my memory serves me right? Very exciting having that going on in your garden.

I see them every year round my house BH, all houses on my road have over hanging eaves ideal roosting for them,

From what I can make out they are Brown long-eared, one day I will get a receiver and record them to double check :)

Love bats too! We have a couple and it is lovely to see them whizzing around at dusk. Martin, your garden is delightful, no wonder you have so much wildlife. That pond is breathtaking!

Thank you for your kind words Irmemac :),

Do you have any idea what type yours might be, from past reading there flight gives us a clue what type we might have,

We can also buy a gadget that picks up there frequency, once you have a recording you can play it back and identify them 100%, the gadget is around £50 from memory, when ive got some spare cash i will get one :).

No idea what kind of bats we have, but didn't know they could be identified by their flight. Will read up on that thanks to your comment. The gadget sounds intriguing - look forward to hearing what kind of bats you have!
