There's the one at Bromsgrove between the M5 and the M42. I guess that will be too far up for you. Cardiff to London will be M4 all the way. Unfortunately that's not route I've taken much.

This morning I went to a local gardeners' club meeting. Sadly I was the only one that turned up. It's such a shame for the lady that organised it. She said now she will give it a rest until spring and then see if there is anymore interest. Bless her. Anyway. Today's meeting was about sowing seeds. This is what I came home with:



This spot on the kitchen work top is the best place in the house for sun. Unfortunately they are in the way there. Maybe I will have to get that greenhouse sooner rather than later.

While I was there I was given a free crab apple tree. Apparently the government want people to plant trees and so are giving them away.



It's a bit of a rubbish picture because the sun decided to go in just as I got my camera out. I am slightly worried about wind damaged. There are no real sheltered spots here. Perhaps that will have to go in the greenhouse too.

I have no idea whether I did it right or not. It took more effort than I thought it was going to.

Your ....Lovely choice of bulbs ...Spring will be with us afore we know it if you do get to visit any one of the Nurseries best give your wallet to one of your family members to hold and they can limit your plant pocket money....with the Autumn end of season sales gawd knows wat you'll be taking back home

If you get time visit Croft Common nursery at The Lizard.....a gem of a nursery

 

I took a coach to Lizard point once. The sign at the top said no coaches so I didn't go down there. At the top, the shops were shut. The pub was shut for refurbishments. Those who were in need used the public toilets. We then moved on to our next port of call. I think it was Goonhilly.

More digging . Planted up with Daffs and Bluebells. Not quite finished as ran out of compost and bark chips. Got lots more to plant. Stuck some of the Fritillaries into two of the sinks.



Still debating over this, whether to leave them or not. Both Hydrangeas were reclaimed from the wilderness this spring and were in a sad and sorry state. Both have done well and the larger of the two ( which had a less severe haircut ) had done really well, huge blooms, one bloom was just over 10 inches across . Both are going over now so don't look their best. I have changed my mind - again _ as regards the front garden and want to develop the woodland theme. Not sure pink/ lilac Hydrangeas fit in with that. I feel bad about it though as I put some effort into them and they have repaid my efforts. I think they are quite old too. I could try and move them but its a question of where to. I guess I shouldn't think that way.

 

@Mark56 Chepstow Garden Centre used to be very good. I lived in that area before moving to Anglesey and it was where I went. The food was good and a broad range of plants and other stuff ( gardening and non gardening ). They have a farm shop and an aquatic shop too. This was 6 years ago so don't know what it's like now, but it's still open. Address is
