    @luciusmaximus
Yes, it's not entirely frosted hardy - it's in a Pot ready for overwintering in the GH and I've also saved seed to sow it each year to be sure against losses- its really buzzy friendly and mixes beautifully with so many plants :)

@Jack Sparrow 200_s.gif It is such a rich colour ...looks like velvet and the tips inside are a really candyfloss pink - Thats why i loved it growing with Cosmos - i have left some to overwinter outside in the hope that if we have another mild winter and with some fleece covering if it gets a bit risky i will get it thru the Winter :fingers crossed: ....Every year is a different outcome so I do try to hedge me bets with seeds and cuttings. :)

Dobbies sell that one @Verdun :dbgrtmb: (Black Chile)

Would it grow in my stacker pot?

              image.jpeg

It might no be in full sun all the time.

If it doesn't grow there it might grow out the front among my roses. I haven't decided what's going in there yet. For now it's full of spring bulbs.

              :snorky:

No not really Gary.....sorry I seem to be so negative with many of your suggestions. Deep good warm soil is needed.
Check out convolvulous mauritanicus/ maritima though. Cascades of velvety purple blue flowers all summer and would happily grow in those limited soil pockets. Here it is totally hardy......I would buy one or two plants, divide them, pot them up and keep in your new gh. In spring place in sunny spot for a very low maintenance highly attractive feature. :)

Change of plan. Mrs Shiney has decided we can't wait for something that might not work. So the Cistus roots will come out :rolleyespink: and be replaced with another, different Cistus from the back garden. As the ground is so dry (no proper rain for ages) I shall need to soak the ground where the Cistus needs to be removed and the ground where the other Cistus is, otherwise they won't come out.

The one from the back garden is a golden variegated leafed variety and has about a 4ft diameter. I hope it transfers OK.:fingers crossed:

I finished cutting back the blackberry beds and cleared all the debris onto the bonfire without to much bodily damage. :blue thumb: The only damage I sustained are a few insect bites that are now extremely itchy and coming up in lumps

I also picked a load of cox's apples, bagged them and sold them. :)

Is that the one in the front garden which we all drooled over? (Crikey, hope the drool wasn't the cause of the problem  ) The variegated one with beautiful white flowers?

Nothing more exciting than moving some pots on the patio for the shady corner.
Mr "M" brought the window boxes from the front of the house to the back garden so I can replant them for the winter. Need to get some tete a tete bulbs to under plant in them, but, I can't be asked to go out today, so they will have to wait.

It's what I would do too Shiney....waiting for something that might recover is wasting valuable time.
A golden variegated variety of cistus has intrigued me .....new to me. :)
I have successfully moved cistus except for the largest ones. Will you be taking cuttings? Hope the move goes well :)

More families from the Grenfell Fire disaster are arriving for a totally free holiday in Cornwall......we have already supported families in this way. Hope we can provide good sunny weather for them. Met one group who were fascinated by the beaches here :)
