Being an early riser, I'm not one for having a Sunday morning lie in, so I'm usually up and about fairly early.

Over the past 3 weeks, since we moved out of town and back to the village where I grew up, I've got in to the habit of going for an early Sunday morning amble around the paths, lanes, meadows and fields that I know so well from my childhood in this lovely corner of Suffolk.

I think I'm going to make these Sunday dawn perambulations a regular thing from now on, I've got the place virtually all to myself at that time on a Sunday morning and I can enjoy the beautiful countryside in my own good time and at my own pace.

Thought I'd share a few photos from my wanderings over the past 3 weeks. I'll try to post one or two each week, it will be interesting to watch the countryside change as the seasons progress.

It's good to be back. :)

Lovely Pictures, we always up and about first thing, i've just been looking at the differents with your rural countryside to ours, there seems to be more care about in Suffolk,
Hope there's no hole in the bucket

Nice place Trunky,:blue thumb: you are very lucky to still have a village to go back to.
Around here that would have turned into a "town" by now or ended up joined to the nearest one.

Thanks for all your kind comments folks, glad you enjoyed the photos, it's a pleasure to share them with you. :)
That little lane is a particular favourite of mine Victoria. It's clearly a very ancient track as it has quite steep sided banks on either side and is lined with well established, very old trees and hedges. It's always been known locally as 'Pig's Valley', nobody knows why - the origins of that name are lost in the mists of time. It's only about half a mile long and doesn't really lead anywhere, but it's a beautiful place to walk.

When you say 'care', do you mean in the way the countryside is managed Jiffy? It's always interesting to see the different ways in which the land is used and managed as you travel around the country, what strikes you as being different to your area?

Can't see the photo in your post M, I assume it's the one with the cows? It's probably wondering why some idiot was standing there talking to it. After all, it's a cow.

Lucky indeed Pete. Many of the larger villages and all of the towns around here are suffering from the type of over development you describe, so far this little corner has been spared.

There is still a lot of unspoilt countryside in Suffolk Trunky and it shows in your photo's, very pretty. No doubt you're glad to be home! :)

Yes, it looks like people care abit as to what is around them, ie, the footpath stile, it's in better shape than what's around here, the tractor, if it was here the rain would be down in the engine then the owner would moan if it wouldn't start etc ;)
It may be because it could have been use to drive pigs to market years ago, on foot and hoof not wheels

Out and about early this morning. Cool and breezy but bright enough for an enjoyable Sunday amble. :)
