In just the same way, an ill conceived, or should I say, answer that lacks required detail can also lead the OP to going off in the wrong direction.

John Laurie - born in my home town, and used to catch the same bus as my grandfather on quite a regular basis. Lovely guy by all accounts.

I watched a you tube video recently describing the differences between men's and women's brains. It said that men's brains are compartmentalized. Every thing is sorted into neat boxes. That's why men can't multitask. A woman's brain is a mass of intertwining wires. Everything is seen in relationship to everything else.

Yes I agree that multitasking isn't my strong suit. In fact I find it quite stressful. Despite this my subconscious is still working over time. Random thoughts often jump out of nowhere. Some I act on. Others I don't. A forum like this is a great outlet for me to release these thoughts.

In theory, confining questions to their relevant sections is logical. In reality it doesn't work like that. Or at least I don't work like that. I have lots of questions all the time. Some more sensible than others.

Sorry. Ive got to be somewhere. I'll be back

                            G.

                                Sorry.

I like the forum as it is. It's a friendly place to chat and share your experiences. I like the randomness of the coversations. There is always something to be learned however abstract. I believe it's the soul of the forum. A stuffy, regimented forum is not the way.

On the lightbulb scenario. Absolutely. That's what forums (shouldn't it be fora?) are all about. Gardeners' Corner is the "friendly forum" . Long may it continue that way.
