Sticking to the subject matter?

These days, the 'humour' on TV is simply not funny. I tend to find the old stuff on You tube - which is a life saver. Dave Allen is one who used to crack me up.

 

Willys, as an alternative, could make me reconsider my travel plans. How big is it?

I do like the old stuff but i think there is some good stuff now as well. I have a wide range. From the gentle comedy of Doc Martin right hrough to Mrs Browns Boys .

 

My apologies to John Laurie and Hugh Laurie.

I love Dave Allen. Always have. I watch his shows on you tube now and again. Most of them I remember from the first time. I still chuckle.

I have the original Irish Mrs Brown's Boys on DVD. The shows are an hour long and less funny. The BBC version uses the same stories and condenses them. This makes them punchier. There are one or two cast changes too.

We saw Mrs Brown's Boys Live a few years back. Yes it was funny and Brendan O'Carroll is a master at improvising, BUT it was a rehash of an old story line. It existed in the original Irish version and again in the BBC version. It's just a shame they didn't write an original story for the stage show.

I have seen some of Still Game. I liked the ones I saw. There was a similar thing recently with Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi. I watches one and found it unfunny. I never bothered anymore.

My wife likes Sarah Millican. We saw her live. We even arranged our holiday around it. We are doing the same thing next summer.
