Would you pay £21.50 a day to drive in London, that is how much it now costs if you have an older vehicle.
I see it as just another way of making money, just wonder whose pocket it will be lining?
Personally I'd want Sadiq Khan to pay me to drive in the sh*t hole of a place.

That's because it is far easier to tackle the humble motorist ;)

So, what happens with foreign lorry drivers then? There are already many sheckles outstanding on the Dart Charge for those blighters; they are greater polluters, but less likely to a) pay the C&T charges and, b) be chased up for it!

Not sure why British hauliers haven't cottoned on to the idea of registering their vehicles in europe, say Romania or Poland.
            Must be a reason?
They could then do whatever they liked and compete on a level playing field.

Is that because they don't have quite the same number of wheels? :dunno: :heehee:
Or, because they don't travel via the Capital in quite the same quantity? :heehee:

Some do, but the mot tax will also have to be done in that county

People will slowly move away from London or any big city, i won't go through or to any big city unless i have to then i would try anything not to go

I entered my car reg into the TFL web site to see if it was subject to the t-charge - it wasn't.

My car is a 2001 diesel - go figure that one out

They do it for a number of reasons but most are because of tax advantages.

P&O registered some of their ships abroad because they weren't allowed to have wedding ceremonies on board British registered ships. It's a lucrative business to have honeymoon cruises.

Contrary to popular belief, the captain of any British ship has never been allowed to perform a marriage ceremony. :noidea:

I've just checked the tfl web site again - my car is now subject to the t charge.

                          'Confusing bodge' comes to mind.

Right so how do you go about paying this extortion??
I assume when you pay you have to put in your reg no. and it automatically tots up how much you owe?

I would guess, but don't know, that most people will open an account - need to put money into it, I think (similar to when you use the Dartford Crossing) and the cameras read you Reg. and charges it. Otherwise you might need to pay 'one-offs' by card.

@clanless seeing where you live, I don't think you will be driving in London much. :) I think most pre 2006 cars are subject to the charge. I just miss that date :blue thumb: but rarely drive into London any more. We use the 'doddery old person's discount cards' :old: on the train.
