Bit like that here lucius......no heavy rain just mizzle. No sun here at all but very mild :)
Not a lot of time for gardening ......but most of the heleniums and dahlias are now cut down and planted out a few more large wallflowers (mine are bigger than Monty's :rasp:)
Big sign of autumn today....getting dark already:sad:

@Verdun How come you chopped down your dahlia etc when they were still flowering ?

Well its been drizzling / raining most of the day.
Decided I would do a bit of gorilla gardening on the other side of the fence on the garage site, a large variegated euonymus has been reverting for a number of years so dug that up. Was going to bin it but I've replanted it else where again and chopped it back hard, its on it 4th or 5th chance. Add a few more iris and fucshia to the Gsite as well .

I have a hydrangea in the front garden which is to large for the border, so next job is to dig that up when its dormant and plant that where the euonymus was.

Emptied some summer baskets and saved some plants out of them, might try some cutting if viable.

Hiya Perki, they would carry on flowering up to December down here and there are masses of foliage to clear plus new growth on hellebores,,daffodils, etc now appearing so want to get garden tidied and mulched. There will be evergreen foliage too like lupins so plenty still to see. We are near to November:) in addition I divide dahlias and pot them up as well, jobs I want finished asap
Plus, waiting for frost to cut down dahlias could mean waiting well into winter.
Like you, I will be moving stuff too:)

Hard graft still ongoing - only three more hawthorns to cut and shred. A hundred feet of 15 foot high hedge reduced to 8 foot. A mountain of ivy, brambles and wild rose but our amazing shredder (bought cheap off Gumtree) has reduced the mountain to a mere hillock. Bonfire party Saturday night:Wino:so out there again in the morning to cut and shred.

Alana, this is the time to do those clearing jobs.....very satisfying too, isnt it?:)
A new shredder for me too. I intend to plough back even more of my own garden waste next year :)
Have a great bonfire night :rasp:

An overcast day, lacking sunshine but blessed in the no rain, no wind department :phew:

Patiently, very patiently, untangled a 2 year old honeysuckle from one side of the archway. Very carefully unfurling the spiralling, intertwined stems, to save as much of the length as possible so I could then re-route it along the faux ivy trellis :phew: Tied in all of the stems horizontally in the hope that next Spring, those horizontal stems will throw up vertical growth. No worries if they do not, but bonus if they do.

Had some seeds (can't remember the origin) of "Autumn" flowering wallflowers. I planted the seeds a couple of months ago, expecting growth. Transplanted them about a month ago in the border and lo and behold(!) they are budding with flowers!! Shame to waste them in their border location at this time of year, so, I've transplanted them (yet again) into my herb planter box so I can enjoy them now. As repeat flowerers, I should get another flush in the Spring :blue thumb:

Leaf clearing is hardly news, but a necessary duty at this time, so it goes without saying really :snorky:

Had a good scout around for sycamore seeds and gathered as many as I could find/see.
:waggy: Little perishers they are.

That was enough for outside duties today :heehee:

The only jobs that I did whilst going into the garden was to fill up the bird feeders and put the bins out. :noidea:

No gardening today, been sorting my mum fence. Picked up a panel today but she wants a trellis on top so had to take some off the bottom of the panel. Made another small panel just need some fencing clamps now to attach the panel to the post. Need some wood for some trellis next.
Lots of jobs to do in my mum garden, started from a blank canvass after I removed the jungle. Lots of planting to be done , got to dig out some concrete post  my back aching just thinking about it.

Just caught up on this thread.. someone give me a kick up the bum please!

Ah @luciusmaximus sorry to hear of the damage :(

@shiney bit of guidance please, if you don't mind. My euphorbia humpty dumpy has bare stems but has new growth on top.. can these be cut back to ground level before winter?

@"M" :grphg: I've just realised what the spare cat litter meant. So sorry xx

Not been up to much, cleared the polytunnel out bar my shelves, compost, few tools, 2 tomato plants and 4 sacks of spuds.. need to move all that to another polytunnel. We're having a new cover!

Went to the allotments AGM meeting. They only want me to be on the bloody committee!

Tied up my climbing rose to the trellis on the front of the house. Although, it was labelled Blue Moon I really don't think it is.. but it's a keeper for sure, it smells beautiful!

Jobs to do would be better.. might give me that kick I need.

Chicken run/coop clear out, Mow grass, Paint fence panels, sort dahlias, repot blueberries, find tete a tete dafs and plant, sort seeds for Hsuh. Dig up achillea for Gary (not forgotten, honest!). Move camillia to a pot replace with a Rowan/hazel.. WEED! Take cuttings and get rid of plants that don't give me joy. And everything else :gaah: next fine day is Thursday. It's a plan.
