:) Hi @Gail_68 and welcome to GC. And welcome to Blaze. I have lots of Geckos here, just your everyday ones, outside and inside ... saw a baby about 1cm long in the bathroom recently. Obviously my cats find them of interest but normally only de-tail them before they escape ...and they don't seem so amused with a writhing tail! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

I kept Leopard Geckos in the '80s, there was only the standard colour then, along with various reptiles and amphibians. They are quieter than my Oriental Fire Bellied Toads which make a noise all year round!

Hi Gail. Mine are probably one of these ...

            Family: Gekkonidae
I think they can detach their tails in order to escape. The are very good at playing dead then I can rescue them and put them outside. Lovely critters.

Here are a couple of old photos (so please excuse quality) ...

@Victoria, I can see the pic's ok and i'm sure you have some expensive Gecko's on your hands there mate, luv the feet and they look so cute.
Yes they lose their tails as you say for escape or any think which threatens them...i'll add a link on yours and expense, you've got a good little wild life going there mate:)

Losing my dog was a shock but never again, he did have a strong presence in the home.

@Victoria, I couldn't find the price list for our lizards which is a USA listing as they're expensive in the US, yours and mine but here's one for the UK.

Lizards for sale, buy Lizards online at Exotic Pets UK

What temp is your tanks at home, as the amount of arguments i've saw in the past over reptile heat is sick, mines at 80F in the day and 65 at night :)

@Gail_68 that item you have under the piece of log with the hole in the end of it,is it a pumice stone thingy for removing dead skin from your feet? as it looks just like the one I have upstairs in our ensuite:scratch::biggrin:

@Kandy There are 3 pumice stones in there done as a path because I took her to the vets to have her nails clipped £20 for about 2minute job:yikes: and he suggested rough stones help their nails to keep trim, so I put 3 in.:heehee: I've added that new plant plus the water dish and they like standing in the water, at the moment she's pure white for shedding her skin again, so I sprayed the tank tonight with warm water and sprayed her :)

I can’t use that stone I bought,I found it didn’t do any good on my feet so buy the proper foot files from Mr T’s shop which do the trick.Yes it is a rip off at times what is charged by vets for such a simple task

@Kandy I've never used one, just always keep to a flat foot scrapper and I totally agree it was a rip off and he had the cheek to say she was cold and she should have been on an hot water bottle, Christ she was in a carrying tank with shredded paper besides sand and she was warmer than me, down by the foot heater in the car...cheek of it :mute:

@Gail_68 Some vets like to make out they know it all when they talk to their customers as if they are some sort of god.If you ha e had these type of pets for some time he should know that you know what you are doing:biggrin:

That foot pumice stone I think was a value one so was quiet cheap but as I said I only used it a couple of times and gave up with it.I will need to do a lot longer of work on my right foot once I eventually lose the dressings as my foot will have been mummified for seven weeks:yikes:

@Kandy I tried the vets first where I used to take Bruno and they didn't do reptiles, so they put me onto this vet who treated pets besides reptiles but now seeing what he did and how he held, i'll do it myself in future and the biggest joke is..she was the first Gecko he'd ever done, on the phone they said £10-50 and on the day it double :noidea:

These are what I use £4-99 for 4 and I hope it was nothing to serious mate? [IMG]
