This is how my Hydrangea looks in the summer but it varies in colour when it comes, the same as my other 3, as my hubby puts metal and iron foiling's around the shoots.

It's still developing and fighting the cold weather now :)

          not sure what that is?
on the second pix. that is an awful tiny little space for it. Is that a pot under it? or is it in that narrow thin line I see?

@redstar, It's an hydrangea plant and it's in dirt mixed with fresh soil added and in a square slab space which as been removed, with gravel on top :) it's been there a good 4yrs easily, it gets a lot bigger than that in the summer.

It looks good to me Gail as do all your plants. It does look a tad squashed but a little beauty isnt it?
Envious of that blue colour......lots of superb blue hydrangeas in Cornwall but here, near the coast, I can only grow the reds, pinks and whites. :)

@Verdun, Hi Verdun I must agree it does look squashed but it's sitting in a square slab size as you can see besides the extra dirt line going along the fencing but it does grow, trouble is I never know what colour they're going to come out like I've mentioned with what my hubby does :heehee:
Oh your in Cornwall, supposed to be beautiful as my sister says as she goes up your end every year for an holiday...addicted I think

Love Hydrangeas, have 13 varieties. some are cream to pink, some are green to blue, some stay cream, some start blue then go to purple. some start pink then go to dark red. Have, lace caps, cones, and the big balls.

Hey Gail.....not upset at all; how could I be? your comments were very nice :). Besides, I see the fun and humour in most everything

Ha ha, your sister has excellent taste cos I think Cornwall is addictive too.:) Wouldn't want to live anywhere else and I have lived in Australia etc. Even early this morning I went down to the beach ....wind was howling and the sea was angry and I loved it :) (maybe not this afternoon though as it is atrocious out there right now:sad:)

I don't grow many hydrangeas here Gail but I am increasingly fond of them. A nice red variety is on my wish list. My favourite is Paniculata Limelight with huge white balls of flowers. I have delphiniums and canna Tropicana Black with it and imperata Red Baron in the foreground to set it off well I think :)
