Got hit by a car Zigs, half the brickwork ended up in the river.

Built in 1841, the bridge is a Scheduled Ancient Monument so there was a lot of bureaucracy involved in getting it repaired. The design and materials used in the repairs had to be approved by Historic England and the repairs had to done using using Soft Suffolk Red bricks and a lime mortar. Soft Suffolk Reds are made to order and there is a long lead in for the bricks to be manufactured.
It took well over a year before the work was done.

It's where me and all my mates used to gather back in the day, when we were nippers. Many a happy hour was spent 'down the bridge' after school and during the holidays. Used to go fishing in the river there too, often used to catch eels and flounders as I recall. :)

Quite chilly and grey first thing this morning so not great for taking photos, still enjoyed my early morning amble though. :)

The autumn colours are quite late here due to the mild autumn, but I did find a few wildflowers here and there, hogweed and pink campion are still going in places.

Out in the sunshine early this morning for my Sunday stroll. Chilly with a touch of frost on the grass in places, but bright, sharp and clear. Perfect for a walk. :)

Back in my younger days, I'd have been straight in there Bee.

These days I'm a bit older and wiser - didn't fancy walking home with soaking wet feet on a cold morning. :old:

Bright sunshine and autumn colours on this morning's Remembrance Sunday walk.

On the way round I stopped at the war memorial to pay my respects to Wilfred and Arthur, the two Great Uncles I never knew.

We have much to be thankful for.

Sunset walk across the fields this afternoon. Too cold to hang about for long, so just a few quick snaps.

Today's Sunday walk on a typical December afternoon - overcast, grey and drizzly. Not great for getting colourful photos, so I thought I'd try black & white for a change.

Very dull and overcast for this week's Sunday stroll on Christmas Eve, so I didn't bother taking the camera with me.

However, today bought clear skies and sunshine (at last) for our Boxing Day walk, so I got a few shots. :)

The Sunday stroll is back! Now I'm retired I'll have a little more free time at weekends, so I was out and about early this morning enjoying the fresh dawn air and the sunshine. It's the best part of the day at this time of year. :)
