I always look out for reduced 'charity' cards in supermarkets, the ones where they state for every pack purchased they'll donate something like 50p to a specific charity, and I buy them when reduced to something like 10p/pack, even more cost effective than buying charity shop bargains using Gift Aid.

I also get multiple free packs from WH Smith every Xmas using O2 Priority deals, you don't even need to be a user of their service to do this, just put a free PAYG sim in all your phones, install their app without topping up, and you're on the way to collecting loads of freebies.

I like the question :blue thumb: :heehee:

Black Friday doesn't really have anything to do with Thanksgiving apart from it being the shopping day after Thanksgiving. It's a retail ploy to try and get more money.

Black Friday was the name given to the shopping day by the Philly police because of it being the worst day of the year for them - start of the Christmas sales. (Writing quizzes makes me a real nerd :snorky:.) It was actually a term used much before then for crashes on the Stock Market (from memory, I think it was first used in the 1860's).

I seem to remember, from my original research, that a number of people in the U.S. have died or been injured during the sales (one incident was someone shot someone else over a parking space!)

Now, of course, they have also brought in Cyber Monday :wallbanging:. They'll soon think up a name for the Tuesday. :rolleyespink:

Just had a thought. The liberals are falling behind, they better March on changing the name "Black" Friday to something else. hurry. whats the matter with them.

It's a device used for sending/receiving text messages and emails, video conferencing, browsing the internet, taking pictures, remotely controling cameras and other electrical equipment, monitoring home CCTV/security systems, watching TV, films and other media, listening to music and radio, keeping a diary (that can be shared with others), navigating using GPS, etc., etc.

P.S. It can also be used to make 'phone calls'.

I only do a very few of those:-
Emails done in front of a nice big screen and from my nice comfortable executive chair
TV on a nice big screen and music from a good HiFi - whilst relaxing in my armchair
Radio (with good speakers) whilst working in the kitchen
                  Car has built in GPS
Diary is a freebie one that I write in and definitely don't want to share with anyone
The rest I have no need of

                  Signed

Ahh! I've got one of those things on my desk :blue thumb:
