    For some reason (too long?) the thread where I said I would post a piccy of my homemade composter has been shut down.

    I spent 2 hours making this - no tittering please - remember that it will be hidden away in a corner:

    I've left it open so that it's easier to turn over the compost - and will be pinning some weed blanket to the inside to fill in the gaps.

              Found some scrap timber - this is it now - weed blanket installed :dbgrtmb:

                Somebody in our village who's moving away shortly gave us dozens of pallets on condition we also took away £150's worth of cut/split logs.

                  And here it is...with my first ever batch of home made compost. I'm quite pleased with it - as much as you can be pleased with compost - but at least I know what's in it - even though it took a long time to get there:

                    It looks really good! I think only those who make their own compost can understand the deep thrill of lovely, friable compost, instead of a pile of weeds, roots, sticks, peelings and unending council sacks!!
