Not a stupid question actually, Sheal.:dunno::love30::snorky: We see our Sun, which is a Star as Yellow, when in fact it is White in colour while viewed in Space, it's only the Nitrogen, 79%, in our atmosphere that makes it look yellow.
So, without getting too complicated, there are different categorys of Star due to their colours
    [IMG]

Blue usually indicates the fast burning, really hot, Stars that will probably burn out fairly quickly, our Sun is intermediate [which is good!!:heehee:] and red Stars are usually Stars starting to use up their fuel and getting "cooler". Stars also emit in their light the main colours of chemicals that helps Astronomers decide what they're made of. In the case of the third image of a Star my camera has picked up the green chemical light but in actual fact that Star is probably in the RED stage. Green is the colour our eyes pick up easiest and so camera sensors are designed to pick it up more than the red or blue they'e also designed to pick up. So what we're seeing there is part of the chemical makeup of the Star.:coffee::snorky:

Looks like the moon has been thoroughly pelted. I know we have lots of meteors that burn thoroughly in our atmosphere but those pictures showing lots of dimples and craters make one wonder at the number that are hurling about up there.

A really great shot, Strongy:love30::thumbsup: and a good comparison for what a "ordinary" camera can see and what a camera attached to a Telescope can see.:snorky:

And so did the Earth, both getting hammered by what is called "The Late Heavy Bombardment" but because our Planet is still tectonically active the meteor strikes are mostly hidden. The Moon on the other side, which we don't see, is just as bad!!

Not something you want to contemplate about unless you've got a glass of "something" near you.:hate-shocked::heehee:

After reading the colour post, I thought about what planet I would like to inhabit.

Thinking year round 80f.. thinking Venus. Closer to sun. Warmer.

Shocking!!!! Metal melting heat..and from greenhouse gas!!!

Did the pound store providers already pollute that place... I know it's not but makes one think. ..

Apart from Mars there aren't many habitable places in our Solar System although a Moon of Saturn called Enceladus which is the 6th largest of it's, around, 53 Moons is regarded by Scientists as "habitable", Lori.

It's not somewhere I would envisage as ideal for a deckchair and a 80f sunny day.:dunno::hate-shocked::heehee:

@ARMANDII looks like a lonely desolate place... guess I'll have to stay on Terra. :)
