              Oh, become a Believer, Gail:heehee:

The base being built in the garden
              [IMG]

The base finished with the two cats inspecting it
              [IMG]
Then installed, power put in and completed with the 12inch aperture telescope inside.

@ARMANDII It's just something you'd imagine on a firm or work site...not in your garden.:)

No, not at all, Gail. It's not something that will blend completely with a garden, but I've done my best to soften the outline with plants. The base was specifically made by the Landscaper to fit into the garden with the real stone Cobbled base wall and steps. The Dome can come in Green but I preferred the traditional white. So all around the top of the base are large pots and sinks planted with Irises, grasses etc.

I'm not the only person in the UK or Cheshire to have an Observatory [I think there's another one about 40 miles away]. It just means I can walk out of the Kitchen straight into the Observatory and start viewing.:snorky: The skies are clear and the temperature is 34f, you'll never guess where I'm going now:heehee:

@ARMANDII I do apologise [IMG]I think it's because I saw it from the basic view that made me comment more but since you've now added this picture showing your plants established around it, it doesn't look bad on the eye :)

Not needed:snorky: At the start of the project a few people were of the same opinion. When I hired the Local Landscaper and told that all I required was a basic round concrete base 9' across, and a foot height above the ground, he refused! He said the garden was much too nice to do that and proposed the cobbled wall base and, because he liked quirky things, did it himself rather than give it to his team. He made a fantastic job of it and I'm glad I hired him:love30::snorky: The skies are still clear and the temperature has dropped to 33f

@ARMANDII It did look unusual at the basic's but the finish of it and with the plants surrounding it makes it look totally different and like you say other members thought the same...I thought you was having a joke with me :snorky:
