WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE - 2017 a

A clear blue sky and a lot of lovely sunshine today, 2C/36F. The sky is still clear this evening and the temperature is now -3C/27F.

 

@Sheal I went straight to the last page this time and saw the pic's...I see what he means about needing it clear for taking shots

 

@Sheal it's really cold here tonight..we've had the rads on in here since late September

 

Well my hubby just sent me this photo of our front garden when we had our first lot of snow ...and I hope it doesn't come like this again

Cor blimey @Jiffy , we're 9 days into Winter and you're talking of Spring. There's nearly another 3 months yet

Need I say more? Lots of IT falling atm and just in from getting pails of water for the horse from the burn as hose is compete concrete. Idiot husband disappeared off to Aberdeen this morning re something to do with his model trains ie not essential. He drives a fairly hefty rear wheel drive car which is pathetic in snow so those words of Oates might be appropriate""I am just going outside and may be some time".
I did mention in passing that I thought it was a bad idea him going but "some fell on stony ground" If he ends up having to be rescued by the emergency services he'll get b all sympathy from me!

 

Heavy rain for much of the morning, brighter now with showers threatening.
Milder than yesterday, nearly 8C after minus 2C overnight.

 

It was -6C/21F after midnight last night. I have an old fashioned thermometer outside which doesn't record the lowest temperature so I've no idea what the bottom figure was.

Today has been grey with a few flakes of snow drifting slowly downwards as the air has been completely still, -2C/28F.

Snow is promised over the weekend keeping me from the garden again. With one week clear of it in the last four it's now getting a bit tedious. In comparison, last winter we only had a brief sprinkling up here and it's apparently rare to see any significant snowfall around Inverness now. This year's an exception and the whole country has been promised a long cold winter.
