I'm moving on now, got the bug.

Any advice on these things, I've been looking around and cant decide on which is best.

I'm fed up with cables on my laptop, kind of defeats the object really, the speakers on the lap top are ok for speech but not much for music.

So I'm looking to get one of these, dont want to spend loads of money, just something with a reasonable battery life, and sounds as good as I can get for less than £80 or so.

Dont care if it's not waterproof, (what do people do with these things?)

Any experience of them would be a help.

They have improved a lot recently, that is for sure - there was one I saw a video teardown on a wee while back, and it was an impressive wee thing; bear with me, and I will try and find which one it was.

@pete You have to make sure you have the right speakers for your divice which I've read anyway and this link shows you how to connect them up :)

            Should have mentioned.
I bought a cheap one for a tenner in Morrisons, it does the job, but battery life isn't great.
Volume could be better, ans sound quality is fair considering how small it is.

They all seem to be designed to connect to phones, basically I dont do phones, they are too tiny, buttons too small, touch screens a pain, just dont like them, even phone calls are rough at the best of times.

I'm looking for something for my lap top that doesn't involve cables, and has a decent volume and sound quality.

@pete Type in your search bar what model you have and the best wifi speakers to match and you should get a rough idea...these cheap ones aren't so good in my opinion :)

Do you use rechargeable ones? I find they work far longer

I can highly recommend this radio/mp3 player/bluetooth stereo boom box:

                            Media-Tech Boombox Stereo BT 15 W Black: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

It has got two speakers and a sort of central subwoofer which produces sound that aspires to be similar to that of old skool, early 1990s egg-shaped Panasonic boom boxes.

I was amazed at the output volume and bassy sound for such a relatively small box.

Like a car stereo unit, it has the basic audio presets and adjustment for bass and treble.

Charging the built-in rechargeable battery is via the micro USB port at the side using your own DC 5V smartphone charger or the included USB cable connected to a PC/laptop USB port.
