Sorry, can't see it properly. :noidea: You need to take a closer photo with enough light to get a clear picture :)

That might prove difficult as that garden is in the USA and I believe devs is in Northern Ireland.

P.S. try googling cotton candy grass

Hi @devs ...like shiney as stated for ID's they like good close shots as it does help members but by what I can see they look like Purple Lavender plants to me, as I have 4 of them and the one in the front garden I let flower the one year and it started splitting the plant...as I've always kept mine in ball shapes as you can see :)

Oh and by the way love the design of your garden :wow:

Thanks very much everyone. The image was found online. I've actually just found it again slightly larger but can not post the link here.

I trust that Muhlenbergia capillaris will not grow for me in NI?

I know and I do love lavender and that was my first choice for these beds but after some research I found that they would need to drainage and my soil is quick clayey. :(

@devs Our soil isn't much better here, the amount of plants moved around our garden to take is totally sick in 10yrs but finally they've all found their spot but If you do want lavender getting the proper soil mixture that goes with the plant which we did and put mainly that in to the ground with the plant, those was only small when we brought them but we have gravel liner over them plus gravel and they love it plus they like the sun and the smell in the air is lovely left to grow wild or cut like ours :)

                    LAVENDER POTTING MIX

Thanks again Gail, I'll revisit this as like I mentioned it was my first choice but I got put off by the amount of drainage thats required and felt a hardier grass maybe a better route. I'll report back!
