I used to have wooden window frames in the House and Red Spider Mite were rampant on them. When I had Double Glazing put in with plastic frames the Red Spider Mite disappeared and never came back. I'm just wondering if having a wooden floor in a Green House or even a wooden framed Green House gives Red Spider Mite a suitable home more than a concrete base or Metal framed Green House??:dunno::coffee:

It was my research A that lead me to believe they was spider mite I never saw them but I had little webs on a few of the plants ?, the wood floor has had lots of oil on it cant really see anything wanting to live on it its new sealed wood ?.

My old wooden window frames were oiled etc but they seemed impervious to that. If the underside of the base gets wet and warm it's a great home for them.:dunno::snorky:

Well, if it is Red Spider Mite, Martin, then you'll notice them soon enough when it warms up as they seemed to like the hot Sun on the wooden frames.:coffee::snorky:

I like Spiders, Gail, especially in the Garden, but they're welcome in the House in small numbers. I don't relate Red Spider Mites to Spiders for some reason:dunno::heehee:

I was listening to Terry Walton on radio 2 on his regular allotment slot today. He was asked what to use to clean GH and said hot water with disinfectant. This is what I will be using on mine.
