Did you buy the small one or is it a division, strongy? I believe that they don't 'pup'? Never seen babies around mine.....

@PeterS has made them pup, but you need to divide up the base of the plant to get them to do it.

Ah right..sacrifice Mummy in the interests of procreation..all that jazz....Given the effort in digging up a big one, I'll pass! It's much easier to wrap it up and mulch it!

@noisette47 the one in the ground was a pup from three years ago but the replacement (if needed) was bought and only cost £5.

Strongy £5 was cheap. But for me the problem is just in finding them, let alone the cost.

They are quite easy to propagate - the secret I think is to not water them until they have roots. The thread is here Bananas

Ah well, swings and roundabouts..it looks as though I'll have a few Alyogyne huegellii to give away. The cuttings are showing signs of new growth :hapfeet:

Choice plant! I tried and failed with that.

My first "tropical" offering of 2018 is Litchi chinensis - AKA Lychee. Sown a week ago they are germinating already...................

Brilliant, longk! I suspect I haven't given my lychee seeds enough heat. Still no sign after 2 weeks.....

I grew one a few years ago but it died in the winter of 2012/13 when the greenhouse electrics shorted out and the greenhouse went down to minus quite a lot! An attractive foliage plant it's more of a fun thing.
