In the past few days, as the weather has been rather nippy and wet, I've made a large batch of Bolognese for the freezer, cooked a large lamb Naga curry (make my own curry powders) and a chicken and veg stir fry.

Mrs Shiney hires me out at reasonable rates. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

So, as well as all the gardening and looking out for your neighbours and all the other stuff you say you do you still find time to cook :wow: :love30: :love30:

#1 son requested a roast for today. Didn't want to cook a fresh joint as it was only the three of us

        :think2:

No worries, I still had a small piece of roast pork in the freezer from Christmas time. I could use that. Except, I really didn't fancy sliced, cold, roast pork alongside a hot roast :nonofinger:

Ok, problem solved: cubed the roast pork and made a roast pork "Toad-In-The-Hole" and cooked the roast potatoes in some pork dripping. Added some steamed vegetables and a tasty gravy; job done :heehee: Loved how those cubes of pork took on a little crispy edge to them too

I must have done something right because today wifey complemented me on dinner. I cooked a beef casserole. To my taste I find red wine a bit harsh. Instead I cooked my stew in red berry juice. Its a much smoother sweeter taste. Of course there were a lots of other things thrown in for good measure. I must agree. It was rather good.

I made Cauliflower and Broccoli cheese followed by Apple and Rhubarb crumble. I cheated a little and used ready made custard

Last night I had some of the Lamb Naga curry I made the other day. Tonight it will be more of the chicken soup plus rib eye steak (£3.09 for 8oz in Aldi). I shall fry the steak on a cast iron (non-stick) griddle pan, get it very hot, drop some butter on it and fry the steak to medium rare. To accompany it I shall do boiled spuds and stir fried veg (beans, carrots, courgettes with a small amount of onion, garlic and ginger).

As I was up at something after four this morning I prepared some carrots and parsnips which I cooked and then added to the mixture along with salt and pepper and then prepped up a load of spuds which I cooked at the same time as cooking the parsnips and carrots:biggrin:

Once the veggies were done I added th carrots and parsnips to the rest of the mixture and once the spuds had cooled down I added them on top of the other stuff and finally used a fork to make the wiggly plugs lines in the top:biggrin:

Will cook them both after we get back from shopping and will have one today and possibly tomorrow and the other one I shall freeze for another day:snorky:

And all this before Mr Kandy got up this morning:snorky:

By the way the reason why the cottage pies are two different colours was because the darker one was done with Desiree spuds and the lighter coloured one was done with Charlotte spuds.Once the second one cools down I shall pop it in the freeze ready for next week.Just hope the Pyrex glass can take the frosty conditions

PS As I cleaned the cooker last week I think Mr Kandy can clean it this week seeings as he got the top mucky while cooking the meals:biggrin:
