Is your oak flooring proper wood @martin-f as we have a Spanish red all through proper wood and I used to love using Zoflora for the floors in our previous property...not this one hot water with a touch of bleach :snorky:...it's still going well after 10yrs :)

This is what ive put down Westco Pale Oak Solid Wood Flooring | Wickes.co.uk many thanks for the cleaning tips,

My room is only 16 square mtr on a few occasions ive gone round with furnisher polish only takes a few minutes, it will feed the wood and give it great protection.

@martin-f Use Zoflora to clean it..i had to go to warm water with bleach with it being a deep red colour and when I had the dog slight marks wouldn't remove but the bleach water moved them or Dettol surface cleaner...it's got to be slippy with furniture polish :heehee:

I love solid wood floors but have been put off by the amount of care it needs to keep it looking good. I wanted it in high traffic areas of my house but lady at tile shop said its not good to wash it too often and I have to wash my floors most days.

TBH it takes no cleaning we bought a battery powered dyson it has a hard floor attachment and its brilliant,

Water is never good with any wood but cheap laminate flooring is the worst, get solid wood treat it with care and it will last a lifetime, I was going to buy used parquet flooring and install it and hire a sander but it would have been too time consuming it does looks great once finished though,

Started on the skirting board this afternoon after fitting a new intercooler pipe on my car this morning,

I didn't get much done a older neighbour was taken ill and I had wait for paramedic then ambulance she's 97 bless her she went off to hospital hope she's ok :fingers crossed:,

Anyhow I managed to get two bits cut sanded stained and installed.
